First collected edition, partly first edition and first printing. Title page engraved by Louis Duveau.
Presentation copy inscribed by Banville to Monsieur Patin: “À Monsieur Patin, hommage très respectueux, Th. de Banville.”
“Several important pieces appear here in first edition, including the collection entitled Le Sang de la coupe. Les Stalactites is enlarged by two poems. Les Cariatides is likewise transformed and enlarged” (Oberlé).
