A gathering of the three titles André Gide published with his friends in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, Jacqueline Heyd and Richard Heyd, director of Ides et Calendes.

A bibliophile himself, Richard Heyd greatly admired Gide, who entrusted him with the publication of a first text in 1945, Jeunesse, followed by other previously unpublished works, including these Éloges and Rencontres. Ides et Calendes also published the monumental eight-volume Théâtre complet, and later, posthumously, Et nunc manet in te (1951). Gide completed the two earlier unpublished texts with the volume of Préfaces, gathering the prefaces he had written throughout his career: to Les Fleurs du Mal, Vol de nuit, Terre des hommes, Lamiel, Voyage en Orient…

Volumes in fine condition.
From the library of Jean-E. Leclercq (bookplate).
