1 vol. (125 x 185 mm) of 220 p. and [2] f. Half havana morocco with bands, gilt fillets on covers, smooth spine decorated, gilt title, date gilt at foot, top edge gilt, original wrappers and spine preserved, matching edged slipcase (binding signed Semet et Plumelle).
First edition, illustrated by Gabriel-Belot.
One of 10 first copies on Japanese paper (no. 5).
The author's copy, presented by the artist together with a double-page wash drawing: “Pour mon ami Pierre Malo qui aime les images, Gabriel Belot, 6 juin 1931.”
Further enriched with the preparatory drawing and tracing for the cover vignette, and a suite of the woodcuts in several states printed on fine laid paper and China paper, together with the original ink tracing.
