Published in 1969, Mors et Vita is one of Montherlant’s last major books. It continues the line of Va jouer avec cette poussière and his Carnets, meditating on death, life and the human condition through fragmented reflections. The work testifies to his obsession with the end, which would culminate in his suicide in 1972.
