A very fine copy, enriched with an autograph card by Émile Ajar [Paul Pavlowitch]. Pavlowitch collaborated directly with Ralph Manheim on the English translation. By his own account, Pavlowitch does not recall ever having inscribed a copy of this edition, which would make this the only copy with an “Ajar” autograph.
Rare in first printing, extremely rare with an autograph note by Ajar.
