The catalogue describes and reproduces 39 books bound by Louise Bescond between 2017 and 2020: a selection through which the binder’s craftsmanship, her knowledge of materials and her delicacy as a colorist are fully displayed.
The bindings presented in the exhibition held at the Librairie-Galerie Métamorphoses from December 2 to December 31, 2021, are all documented, with an introductory text by Fabienne Le Bars, curator at the rare books department of the BnF, photographs by Stéphane Briolant and layout by Constance Allard.
The cover of the catalogue was designed by Louise Bescond, who provided an original etching for the 29 deluxe copies.
