Liberté
in Choix, Les Écrits du mois à travers le monde, no. 1.
1 vol. (125 x 185 mm) of 128 p. Stapled.
“Liberté,” which appears here for the first time under this title in a periodical published outside France — in this case in London, where a bilingual edition of Poésie et Vérité 1942 containing the poem under this title had just been published in May — opens this new review, conceived as a kind of Reader’s Digest “for the Allied information services” aimed at the French public. The last page lists, under the heading “published abroad, 1940–1944,” French books issued mainly by La France Libre in London and by Éditions Maison Française in New York, including works by Aragon, Vercors, Saint-Exupéry, Bernanos and Maritain.
