The seventh volume in the Largo Winch series, opening a two-part story continued in L’Heure du Tigre. It is the most political album of the series, plunging its hero into an authoritarian Asia, at the heart of a corrupt judicial system where arbitrariness stands in for law: “Makiling is the place from which no one returns. Unless, like Largo, you have a thirst for justice in your blood.” This volume marks a narrative and moral turning point in the series, foreshadowing the character’s more personal commitments in the following volumes.
