A photograph of a moment, fragmented sequences of a stark reality: more than a diary, La Vie extérieure gathers notes, “traces of time and history, fragments of the text we all write simply by living.” The text begins in April 1993 in the RER at Cergy-Préfecture, as war raged in Bosnia, and ends in November 1999 as the Russians “quietly exterminate the Chechens.”
Publisher’s wraparound band preserved.
