La Promesse de l’aube

This book is the last title corrected by Romain Gary, who completed its revision in the fall of 1980. In addition to minor corrections to the text, he added chapter XXII, which had appeared in the American edition published in March 1961, a year after the French edition, from which it was absent. This long and important chapter would be the only addition made to Promise at Dawn, which Gary was determined to insert into the most widely read and reread edition, the one published in France.
