La Loi d’accomodation chez les borgnes

Paris, Éditions Th. Briant, (May 15) 1928.
1 vol. (220 x 285 mm) of 35 p. and [1] f. In wrappers, uncut.
First edition. One of 15 hors commerce copies [on vélin d'Arches] — this one without the 2 black lithographs.

Accompanied by an autograph letter signed and dated November 24, 1927, from Mougins, in which Picabia thanks his correspondent for an article that “infinitely touched” him.

A dazzling Surrealist scenario, set in an original typography mixing three sizes of type, La Loi d’accomodation chez les borgnes offers a fine example of Picabia’s Surrealist production: “I ask each of my readers to stage, to project for himself on the screen of his imagination — a truly magical screen, incomparably superior to the poor black-and-white calico of cinemas — (…) all seats are the same price, and one may smoke without disturbing one’s neighbors”!

Wrapper slightly sunned.
