For the 1924 Olympic Games, the Pautauberge laboratories published a series of advertising postcards on the theme of sport, all illustrated by H.L. Roowy, a celebrated “sporting” illustrator who also worked for Alcyon, Pirelli, Michelin, Dunlop and Rossignol, whose real name was Stanley-Charles Rooles. Ten sports are depicted: hurdling, boxing, discus throwing, rugby, sprinting, tennis, football, fencing, wrestling and swimming.

This version was intended for the Spanish public, as part of the “Colección de la Kolarsine y de la Solución Pautauberge.”

It is even rarer than the French series, which exists in two editions with a different text on the verso.

The Pautauberge laboratories, founded in Paris in 1887, bear the name of their creator, inventor of the “Solution Pautauberge,” a calcium chlorhydrophosphate used to treat pulmonary ailments. To this was added “Kolarsine,” a tonic for anemia. For its advertising and to promote its two flagship products, the firm decided to issue advertising chromolithographs on various cultural subjects (French towns, monuments, sites), which were collected year after year.

Very fine condition, cards unwritten, without defect, with fresh colors.
