Mon ami Maigret

Paris, Presses de la Cité, 1956.
1 vol. (117 x 179 mm) of 218 pp., in wrappers.
Second edition, after the first edition of 1949, issued in illustrated wrappers and dust jacket.

One of 100 numbered copies on alfa Cellunaf paper (no. 50). The limitation statement carries the erroneous mention “constituant l'édition originale.”

Written in Tucson, Arizona, in January 1949, Mon ami Maigret features the Commissaire accompanied by his colleague from Scotland Yard, Inspector Pyke, who has come to observe the methods of the French police. The two leave Paris for the island of Porquerolles, where a man has been murdered after publicly boasting of his friendship with Maigret.

A good copy.
