The catalogue describes and reproduces 39 bindings created by Louise Bescond between 2017 and 2020, a selection showcasing the binder’s craftsmanship, her knowledge of materials and her delicate sense of color.
The bindings presented in the exhibition held at the Librairie-Galerie Métamorphoses from December 2 to December 31, 2021 are all documented, with an introductory text by Fabienne Le Bars, curator at the BnF’s rare books department, photographs by Stéphane Briolant, and layout by Constance Allard.
The cover of the catalogue was designed by Louise Bescond, who also provided an original etching for the 29 deluxe copies.
