This first illustrated edition was published and distributed under the patronage of the Fédération nationale de “Ceux de Verdun.” It is illustrated by André Lagrange, a veteran of the First World War decorated with citations and medals, who also designed the vignette used on the Verdun combatant’s certificate issued by the Fédération nationale.
A very fine copy, in as-new condition.
From the library of Maurice Genevoix, at “Les Vernelles” (bookplate).
