de Tipasa à Lourmarin
Deluxe issue of 150 numbered copies, in boards, with an accompanying offprint of Naissance et Jour levant d'une amitié.
De Tipasa à Lourmarin, an exhibition marking the Centenary, chose to follow the published work of Albert Camus from A to Z, presenting for each title at least one remarkable edition, an original manuscript or an original photograph. Some of the items gathered in this catalogue had never before been shown — among them one of the working notebooks for La Peste (on loan from the BNF), Camus’s personal copy of Nietzsche (private collection), and several leaves of the manuscript of L’Étranger. This catalogue is now a standard bibliographical reference on the subject.
Nearly 200 books and documents are included, all reproduced and captioned in the catalogue: precious letters and manuscripts, provenances, bindings and first editions. Bindings by Georges Leroux, Pierre-Lucien Martin, Paul Bonet, G. de Coster and Jean de Gonet; original manuscripts, corrected proofs and remarkable provenances.
The whole of Camus’s work is presented chronologically, illustrated with first editions or illustrated editions.
