Lettre autographe signée

[Paris], May 5, 1911.
1 leaf (275 x 175 mm) on blue paper with her motto and monogram “R.B. Veuille ce que veut,” envelope preserved.
A charming letter from the actress Regina Badet, who created the title role of La Femme et le Pantin by Pierre Louÿs, to whom she here addresses her “most heartfelt thanks for the charming dedication,” which, she adds, “will be doubly precious to the admirer of your superb talent, to the creator of your Concha Perez [...].”

This role on the stage of the Théâtre Antoine secured the actress her first major success. Badet, as much a dancer as an actress, would go on to become a star of the Opéra-Comique (on the stages of both Paris and Bordeaux), where she had already appeared in 1906 in Aphrodite, by Camille Erlanger and Louis de Gramont, after the text by Pierre Louÿs.
