This comedy in three acts and an epilogue premiered on 4 May 1922 at the Théâtre Édouard VII, with Sacha Guitry and Yvonne Printemps in the leading roles. The pagination of the typescript, in which the stage directions are underlined in red pencil, shows that it underwent revisions.
It contains autograph corrections and additions in pencil, along with numerous pencil annotations in Yvonne Printemps’s hand for her interpretation of the role of Marie-Louise.
