Drapeau du Brésil

[São Paulo, 1993].
1 piece of fabric (470 x 310 mm), printed in color on recto.
Brazilian flag signed by the two most famous Brazilian athletes, legends in their respective sports: Ayrton Senna and Edson Pelé.

Pelé, a towering figure in football and often regarded as the greatest player in the history of the sport, is the only footballer to have won the World Cup three times (in 1958, 1962 and 1970), with the Brazilian national team.

Ayrton Senna, an idol in Brazil where his status transcended that of a mere sporting champion, is considered one of the greatest drivers in the history of Formula 1, winning the world championship title three times (1988, 1990 and 1991), with 41 Grand Prix victories and 65 pole positions over the eleven seasons he competed.

According to its previous Brazilian owner, the flag was signed by both men at a party celebrating Ayrton Senna’s victory at the Interlagos circuit in São Paulo, at the 1993 Brazilian Grand Prix, driving his McLaren-Ford. He finished ahead of Damon Hill and Michael Schumacher. The party was organized by the manufacturer McLaren, celebrating on this occasion its 100th Grand Prix victory. It was Senna’s 37th, after a long battle with Alain Prost, who had started from pole position but retired following an accident on lap 30.

Documents bearing the signatures of these two Brazilian sporting legends are naturally rare.

Fine condition.
