Signed presentation inscription by the illustrator on the volume of Rémi des Rauches, accompanied by a large watercolor drawing:

A superb and complete set of the six novels by Maurice Genevoix published by La Belle édition in the late 1950s. It comprises the following titles: Routes de l’aventure, with watercolors by Pierre-Eugène Clairin; La Boîte à pêche, with compositions by André Collot; La Dernière harde, with compositions and an original etching by Odette Denis; Raboliot, with watercolors by Paul Jarach; Rémi des Rauches, with watercolors by Jacques Thévenet; and finally Rroû, with illustrations by A. D. Steinlen.
Raboliot is one of the titles in the set, presented here without being separated from the collection, and in what constitutes the finest copy of the whole: these are the volumes printed for Maurice Genevoix and his wife, on the deluxe pur fil du Marais paper: only 15 copies were announced, plus this nominative hors commerce copy. A calling card and a letterhead sheet from the Académie française, “Secrétaire perpétuel,” are included, the latter with an autograph note: “La belle édition. Exemplaires spécialement imprimés pour Suzanne et Maurice Genevoix. Collection complète.”
A choice copy, bringing together what Genevoix himself called his “naturalist” tales, or tales of “initiation into nature.”
