Presentation copy inscribed by Glatigny: “à monsieur Charles Desalure, respectueux hommage, Albert Glatigny.”
A very rare first edition of a text for which the Lemerre edition of 1870 is often cited as the princeps. Even Poulet-Malassis, who published the first Glatigny bibliography in 1875, was unaware of this edition.
Performed in Vichy, it appeared in the Revue Nouvelle (issue of May 15) shortly before being staged the following month at the Casino theater, and was published jointly in Paris by Faure and in Vichy by a local bookseller, “Jules César.”
