A fine joint publication by Claudel and Denis. Claudel had just left Europe for South America to take up his post as minister plenipotentiary in Rio de Janeiro. This copy belonged to another prominent diplomat, Henri Hoppenot, who joined Claudel in Rio in April 1917 as embassy secretary.
