Limp binding of yellow and green buffalo hide, vertical mosaic title at center of front cover and mosaic title on spine, velvet goatskin doublures and endleaves, original wrappers preserved, chemise and slipcase (binding signed Renaud Vernier - E.D. Claude Ribal, 2015).
First edition. One of 90 copies on Arches paper, signed by the artist (no. 17), from a total edition of 100 copies. Illustrated with five lithographs by Juan Gris, including one on the cover and four full-page plates.

Denise is one of five books Juan Gris illustrated for his dealer, Kahnweiler. The tale was written by Radiguet at Carqueiranne (Var) and was published posthumously at Cocteau’s request.

A very fine copy in a superb limp binding by Renaud Vernier.
