Purpose
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale govern all transactions carried out on the Librairie Walden website. Placing an order implies full and unreserved acceptance of these terms.

Items

• Items are offered for sale subject to availability, each object being unique and potentially already sold before the website is updated.
• Photographs supplement the description but should not be considered exhaustive.

Prices

• Prices are net, displayed in euros, and include all taxes.
• Librairie Walden reserves the right to change its prices at any time, but the item will be invoiced at the price in effect at the time of order.
• In accordance with Article 297 A of the French General Tax Code, VAT is not deductible.

Orders

• Any confirmed order commits the customer to pay the full amount due.
• Librairie Walden reserves the right to refuse an order in the event of non-payment, a prior dispute, or suspected fraud.

Right of Withdrawal

• In accordance with articles L.221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, the buyer has a period of 14 days from receipt of the item to exercise their right of withdrawal.
• The item must be returned complete and in perfect condition.
• Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Guarantees

• Librairie Walden guarantees the authenticity of the items sold and provides a certificate of authenticity upon request.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, French courts shall have sole jurisdiction.

Data Collection

• Mandatory data required to process orders: title (Mr./Ms.), last name, first name, postal address, email, phone number.
• Billing and payment data are collected and processed by our secure payment provider, Sogecommerce, a solution provided by Société Générale.
• Postal data required for delivery (last name, first name, address, phone number, email) is shared with our shipping partners (La Poste, UPS, or DHL) solely for the purpose of shipping orders.
• The email address used for our mailing list is processed by our provider, Brevo. This data is used only with your consent and may be deleted at any time upon request to [email protected].

Use of Data
Data is used solely for managing orders, deliveries, and customer relations.
Librairie Walden does not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.

Security
Data is stored securely and protected against unauthorized access.

User Rights
In accordance with the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés) of 6 January 1978, every user has the right to access, rectify, delete, and port their data, as well as the right to object to its processing.

Data Retention
Data is kept only for as long as necessary for the business relationship and to comply with legal obligations.

Cookie Management
The Librairie Walden website uses cookies to:

• Ensure its proper functioning,
• Improve the browsing experience and measure site traffic.

Users can configure their browser to block or delete cookies. However, some features of the site may not work properly as a result.
Librairie Walden uses Matomo Analytics to analyze site traffic. This tool is configured to place no cookies and to anonymize IP addresses.
The data collected therefore cannot be used to identify visitors and is used solely for overall browsing statistics.
In accordance with CNIL recommendations, this method of operation is exempt from requiring prior consent.

Payments can be made by:

• Bank transfer
• Check in euros, made payable to Librairie Walden

No item will be shipped without full payment of the invoice. Librairie Walden retains ownership of the items sold until they have been paid for in full (Law of 12 May 1980).

We ship your orders via UPS, La Poste with Colissimo, or DHL, depending on your preference.

• Delivery times are given for guidance only; Librairie Walden cannot be held responsible for delays caused by carriers.
• Shipping costs are communicated at the time of order. However, they may be reassessed after confirmation if the shipment involves a particularly large or heavy parcel, or is destined for a specific geographic area requiring special handling.
